How do you plant an orange tree directly from the seeds of an orange? How do you prepare the seeds?
Filed Under Garden Landscape | 2 Comments
I have a handful of orange and tangerine seeds. I would like to show my daughters the process of a growing fruit tree. What do I need to do to the seeds to prepare them for planting? We live in Louisiana, what weather conditions should a citrus tree be left in? How long should it take to grow and fruit? Thank you for any help given!!

I would like to plant an orange tree from some seeds that I have. I looked at previous questions about this, and lots of people say that the tree wont produce any fruit, the only way to get the tree to produce fruit is by grafting.. Can someone please explain what is grafting?
I know the tree wont produce fruit for years s but i’d still like to plant it.

Wen I live (Italy) there are a very whide choise of chees (from Italy, Swiss and France) and each fresh chees are white (like mozzarella, crescenza, robiola…) and in the mature chees the color become (by passing the months) light yellow (like parmigiano reggiano, emmentaler, pecorino…)
In the movie and in McDonalds cheesburger, I saw that american chees is ORANGE, why?
If the milk is white, what is the needing of transform the natural color in an artificial orange by adding color to ingredients?
you say “i think they feel it makes it look more appetizing” but I think the opposite because.. the milk is white not orange.
Were i live the chees must made BY LAW with only 3 ingredients: milk, salt and “caglio” (Rennet??).
It’s so strange see orange chees…
Here, only nederland chees have color added

What’s with the orange balls on power lines?
Filed Under Aircraft | 19 Comments
I’ve been flight instructing for years. I’ve been in love with aviation my whole life. I read all the time. Yet I have never found a reference to the orange balls they hang on power lines near airports. My family tells me this is to “improve the visibility of the lines for pilots.” If that’s the case, why is it not in any publication I have ever come across?
Carman24…learn to spell before you call someone a moron.
I still haven’t seen a REFERENCE to what I’m talking about. The AC 70/7460-1J is the best so far. From what I can tell nothing has to be marked below 200 AGL and that’s where the balls I’m talking about are always located.
For those of you who “question” my status as a CFI. Look it up. Jeffrey J. Frabell 2842771CFI exp 04/07.
To the “common sense” answers…You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. The federal government (FAA, military, etc) doesn’t do common sense. If it isn’t written it doesn’t exist.
Thanks to those of you who have tried without being insulting.
Babyitsyou31. Thank you. I found what I was looking for in the AC.
Now how do I close this question so I don’t get more rediculous answers?

How can I get my fresh squeezed orange juice to not separate into clear watery and sediment parts?
When I buy fresh orange juice in a paper carton in always comes out looking the same. What is done to it so it stays that way? Does anyone know?
When I fresh squeeze oranges to get juice within minutes it starts to separate out and does not look so good. I know I have to stir it but I am wondering if there is some way I can get it to stay together.
Thank you in advance,

I left a glass of orange juice on the counter for about 5 weeks and now the top is completely black, and thick. Is this dangerous? Can the spores be traveling through the air right now, causing me to become sick eventually?
